Spot Money Referral Program PROMOTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS 20th May 2025 (“Launch Date”)

1. Introduction

1.1 The Spot Money Referral Program (“Promotion”) is organised and managed by Spot Money SA (Proprietary)

Limited (“Spot”), including affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively referred to as the “Organisers”).

1.2 The Promotion is open for entry by Promotion Participants who are South Africa9.11 In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the Promotion and/or the Terms and Conditions, the
Organiser’s decision will be final, and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
9.12 All Promotion Participants indemnify the Organisers, their associated and subsidiary companies, and their
directors, officers and employees, against any and all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect,
consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever from the Promotion Participants participation
in any way whatsoever in this Promotion.
9.13 By participating in this Promotion, the Promotion Participant agrees to all the Promotion Terms and Conditions
set out above, without exception.
9.14 Any violation of these rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressing Promotion
Participant from the Promotion;
9.15 South African law shall govern these Promotion rules and the courts of South Africa shall have exclusive
jurisdiction.

older with a valid South African identity document or Smart Card.

1.3 By entering the Promotion, all participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, which will be

interpreted by the Organisers and the Organisers decision regarding any issue will be final and binding and no

correspondence will be entered into.

1.4 This Promotion will run from Launch Date for a period of 3 (three) months (the “Promotion Period”).

1.5 The purpose of the Promotion is to enable user referrals by incentivising existing Spot Money Account holders

to invite and bring in new transacting users. For purposes of this Promotion:

1.5.1 The existing Spot Money Account holders shall be referred to as referrers (“Referrer(s)”);

1.5.2 Those persons whom Referrers engage for purposes of this Promotion shall be referred to as invitees

(“Invitee(s)”);

1.5.3 Those Invitees who satisfy the eligibility criteria stipulated in clause 3.3, and who successfully comply with

qualifying criteria stipulated at clause 4.3 below, together with all other provisions in terms of these

Promotion Terms and Conditions, shall be referred to as the referrals (“Referral(s)”).

(Referrers, Invitees and Referrals are each considered as participants of the Promotion, and shall be bound by

these Promotion Terms and Conditions (“Promotion Participants”).

2. Definitions

2.1 The following defined terms shall apply in respect of these Promotion Terms and Conditions:

2.1.1 “eRICA Process” refers to Spot Mobile’s prescribed procedure for purposes of complying with the

requirements of RICA;

2.1.2 “eSIM” refers to a SIM card that’s built into your smartphone and can’t be removed. It performs the same

function as a traditional SIM, except that it’s programmable;

2.1.3 “Promotion Benefit” refers to the benefits stipulated at clause 5 below, applicable to either the Referrer or

the Referral upon successfully meeting the criteria stipulated in these Promotion Terms and Conditions;

2.1.4 “RICA” means the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication Related

Information Act 70 of 2000, as amended;

2.1.5 “Spot Money” refers to the banking account service suite offered by Spot through its proprietary banking

application;

2.1.6 “Spot Money Account” refers to a transactional banking account held with Spot Money, which account is

administered through Spot’s proprietary banking application;

2.1.7 “Spot Mobile” refers to the electronic mobile telecommunications network owned and operated by Spot in

South Africa, and which is publicly available for subscription and use on the open consumer market;

2.1.8 “SIM” refers to a Subscriber Identity Module in respect of the Spot Mobile telecommunications network.

SIM shall refer to eSIM.
3. Eligibility Criteria
3.1 To successfully participate in the Promotion and benefit from the Promotion, there are specific eligibility
requirements applicable in respect of each category of Promotion Participants, and these are set out below.
3.2 Referrers Must Have –
3.2.1 an active Spot Money Account;
3.2.2 an activated Spot Mobile SIM; and
3.2.3 an active Spot Mobile SIM to redeem rewards.
3.3 Invitees / Referrals must
3.3.1 be new to Spot Money having had no previous Spot Money Account history;
3.3.2 reside in South Africa; and
3.3.3 complete the required eRICA Process in respect of their Spot Mobile SIM to qualify.
4. Referral Flow and Success Criteria
4.1 Referral Links and Referral Codes
4.1.1 Referrers shall be provided with the functionality over Spot Money to share:
4.1.1.1 a unique referral link; or
4.1.1.2 a referral code.
4.1.2 Once the referral code or link is used, it cannot be changed.
4.1.3 Only one Referrer may be linked to each Invitee; and
4.1.4 Under no circumstances will a Referrer be entitled to the Promotion Benefit by attempting to invite the
same Invitee multiple times and/or if an Invitee has already been invited by another Referrer, and is already
recognised by Spot as a Promotion Participant.
4.2 Use of Referral Links and Codes by Invitees
4.2.1 Invitees must either:
4.2.1.1 Sign up for a Spot Money Account using the referral link and or apply the referral code during onboarding;
or
4.2.1.2 Manually add the referral code in the profile section over Spot Money within 14 (fourteen) days of
creation of their Spot Money banking application user profile.
4.3 Qualifying Criteria Converting an Invitee to a Referral:
4.3.1.1 The Invitee completes all 3 (three) of the following qualifying actions (which may be executed in any order):
4.3.1.1.1 Create a Spot Money Account;
4.3.1.1.2 Request a Spot Mobile SIM and successfully completes the requirements for activation on the Spot
Mobile network;
4.3.1.1.3 Spends R50 (Fifty Rand) or more on Spot Mobile airtime (not data) via Spot Money within 14 (Fourteen)
days.
5. The Promotion Benefits

5.1 Upon successfully complying with the Eligibility Criteria stipulated at clause 3 above, and the Referral Flow and
Success Criteria stipulated at clause 4 above, together with all other provisions stipulated in these Promotion
Terms and Conditions, the Referrers and Referrals shall be entitled to receive the following Promotion Benefit:
5.1.1 Promotion Benefit – Referrer:
5.1.1.1 R150 (One Hundred and Fifty Rand) worth of Spot Mobile airtime;
5.1.1.2 3 GigaBytes of data;
5.1.2 Promotion Benefit – Referral:
5.1.2.1 R100 (One Hundred Rand) worth of Spot Mobile airtime (unlocked only after completing qualifying R50
airtime purchase, as stipulated at clause 4.3.1.1.3 above);
5.2 Mode of Delivery of Promotion Benefits:
5.2.1 Once all qualifying actions are completed by the Referral, the Referrer’s Promotion Benefits are issued
instantly to the Referrer’s Spot Money banking account profile.
5.2.2 Airtime and data are valid for 30 (thirty) days from the date of redemption.
5.2.3 The Referrer will receive the full eligible Promotion Benefit airtime and data balance upon redemption
request over their Spot Money banking application profile;
5.2.4 Invitee’s airtime Promotion Benefit will be issued directly to their activated Spot Mobile SIM upon
qualification with these Promotion Terms and Conditions.
5.2.5 Promotion Benefits are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or used to purchase vouchers
or services in the Spot Money banking application.
6. Fraud and Abuse Prevention
6.1 Spot reserves the right to disqualify Promotion Participants suspected of:
6.1.1 Creating multiple or fake Spot Money accounts;
6.1.2 Using the same device for multiple Spot Money signups;
6.1.3 Self-referral; or
6.1.4 Any other behaviour, in the reasonable opinion of the Organisers, deemed abusive or fraudulent.
6.2 Spot may withhold or reverse Promotion Benefits and suspend offending Promotion Participants.
7. Exceptions and Edge Cases
7.1 If an Invitee does not complete all qualifying actions within 14 (Fourteen) days, as stipulated at clause 4.3
above, the qualification will expire and the Invitee will be disqualified from further participation in the
Promotion.
7.2 Multiple Referrers cannot claim the same Invitee; only the first Referral correctly applied will count.
7.3 If Invitees fail to enter or apply a code during onboarding, they have up to 14 (fourteen) days to add it via their
profile section in Spot Money.
7.4 Spot is not liable for delays in issuance of Promotion Benefits due to verification or technical issues.
8. Right to Modify or Terminate
8.1 The Organisers reserve the right to update, pause, or terminate the Promotion and to vary the Promotion
Benefits at any time during the subsistence of the Promotion, as stipulated at clause 9.8 below.

8.2 Promotion Participants will be notified of significant changes to the Promotion via updates to the Spot Money
in-application terms and conditions.
8.3 Spot Money reserves the right to configure an internal Spot Money Customer Management System or technical
system to automatically update the Spot Money or Spot Mobile public-facing social media profiles to reflect
any changes to the Promotion.
9. General Terms and Conditions
9.1 The Promotion Gift is only redeemable once by any Referral. For a Referrer, provided they are making
introductions to different Invitee’s, if one of those Invitee’s becomes a Referral, the Referrer will be entitled
to benefit from an additional Promotion Gift.
9.2 The Promotion Benefits shall be subject to the:

and
9.2.2 Spot Mobile Subscriber Terms and Conditions: https://spotmoney.com/spot-mobile-subscriber-terms-andconditions/ .
9.3 The Organisers will conduct a verification exercise to authenticate whether the Promotion Participants have
complied with the Promotion criteria as indicated at clauses 3 and 4 above. Once successfully verified and
authenticated, the Promotion Participants will receive their Promotion Benefit.
9.4 All personal information of the Promotion Participants will be strictly made use of in line with the Promotion
and will be stored in a secure repository and not transferred to any third party. For further information, please

9.5 The Promotion is valid for the Promotion Period only.
9.6 This Promotion is advertised on the Spot Money platforms;
9.7 The Promotion Period may be extended or reduced at the discretion of the Organisers.
9.8 The Promotion, the Promotion Benefits, and any terms and/or conditions surrounding it may be amended by
reasonable notification at any time and will be applied and interpreted in the sole discretion of the Organisers.
Such altered terms and conditions shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as
may be determined by the Organisers. No Promotion Participants shall have any recourse against the
Organisers as a result of any alterations of the terms and conditions.
9.9 The Organisers reserve the right to extend, reasonably shorten or suspend the time period of the Promotion
for technical or commercial or operational reasons or for the greater public good or due to a “force majeure”
event or generally for any reason whatsoever within their sole discretion, on condition that the Organisers
notify the Promotion Participants in a manner that is expedient according to its best ability.
9.10 The Organisers reserve the right to amend the rules and/or terminate this Promotion immediately at any stage,
whether required as a result of changes in legislation, or if required by any national, provincial or municipal
authority, or within the sole discretion of the Organisers for any reason (recognised in law). Notice of such
termination shall be made available on the Spot Money platforms, unless the Promotion Period has come to
an end. In such event, all Participants waive any rights that they may have/purport to have in terms of this
Promotion and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Organisers whatsoever
